Silent Prayer

God of mystery, who are we that you should care for us? Yet you surprise us with grace,

infuse us with hope, and teach us a better way. Make us ever more faithful, and ever more grateful, as we watch for the coming of your Son, Jesus, in whose name we pray. Amen

Announcements

Prelude Midsummer Night’s Dream Mendelssohn/ Mansfield

Welcome

Be-side us, for-giv-ing, en-a-bling, sus-tain-ing, you call us, O Sav-ior, to life that is new. You draw us a-way from self-cen-tered com-plain-ing. You lead us and guide us in ways that are true.

*Call to Worship

One: Our Creator resides in our midst… calling us to this community. Many: Our world waits for the Holy One, our help and shield. One: God gazes upon Their beloved creation with delight and concern. Many: Our bodies wait for the Holy One, our help and shield. One: The Spirit of the Living God greets us with fresh winds and new mercies. Many: Our souls wait for the Holy One, our help and shield.

*Passing of the Peace (ASL) Lighting of the Peace Candle & Prayer for Peace & Justice

Here in this place, the new light is stream-ing,

now the dark night has van-ished a-way, See in this space our fears and our dream-ings, brought here to you in the light of this day. Gath-er us in, the lost and for-sak-en; gather us in; our spir-its in-flame. Call to us now, and we shall a-wak-en; we shall a-rise at the sound of our name.

We are the young - our lives are a mys-tery; we are the old, who yearn for your face. We have been sung through-out all of his-tory, called to be light to the whole hu-man race. Gath-er us in, the rich and the haugh-ty; gath-er us in, the proud and the strong; give us a heart so meek and so low-ly; give us the cour-age to en-ter the song. Here we re-ceive new life in your wa-ters; here we re-ceive the bread of new birth; here you shall call your sons and your daugh-ters, call us a-new to be salt for the earth. Give us to drink the wine of com-pas-sion, give us to eat the bread that is you; nour-ish us well, and teach us to fash-ion lives that are ho-ly and hearts that are true.

Not just in build-ings, small and con-fin-ing, not in some heav-en, light years a-way, here in this place the new light is shin-ing; now is God pres-ent, and now is the day. Gath-er us in and hold us for-ev-er; gath-er us in and make us your own; gath-er us in, all peo-ples to-geth-er, fire of love in our flesh and our bone.

*Invocation (spoken in unison)

Abundant God, we wait for you with longing, hope, and anticipation. May your kin-dom be realized in this community. May your people be your ambassadors. May your love be our propeller in the world and our beacon to direct us home. Fill us with the bread of life and nourish our spirits to be your good news in the world. Amen

Message Rev. TJ Mack

Great is your faith-ful-ness, O God, Cre-a-tor,

with you no shad-ow of turn-ing we see.

You do not change, your com-pas-sions they fail not;

all of your good-ness for-ev-er will be.

Refrain

Great is your faith-ful-ness! Great is your faith-ful-ness! Morning by morn-ing new mer-cies I see; All I have need-ed your hand has pro-vid-ed, Great is your faith-ful-ness, God, un-to me!

Sum-mer and win-ter, and spring-time and har-vest, sun, moon, and stars in their cours-es a-bove, Join with all na-ture in man-i-fold wit-ness to your great faith-ful-ness, mer-cy, and love.

Refrain

Par-don for sin and a peace so en-dur-ing, your own dear pres-ence to cheer and to guide, Strength for to-day and bright hope for to-mor-row, bless-ings all mine with ten thou-sand be-side.

Refrain

Prayers of the People – Sharing Joys & Concerns

Lead Me Lord

Lead me Lord, lead me in thy righteousness, make thy way plain before my face.

For it is thou Lord, thou Lord, only, that makest me dwell in safety.

Offering – Welcoming our Tithes and Offerings – Let our hearts direct the use of our resources, our time, and our talents.

Offertory Communion Aria Franklin Ritter

*The Doxology

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below;

Praise God for all that love has done; Creator, Christ, and Spirit, One. Amen

*Prayer of Dedication (spoken in unison)

Generous One, receive the gifts we bring as we return a portion of Your treasure to the use of Your kin-dom. May Your will be manifested and Your creation restored through sharing these offerings. Amen

Let us tal-ents and tongues em-ploy, reach-ing out with a shout of joy:

bread is bro-ken, the wine is poured, Christ is spo-ken and seen and heard.

Refrain:

pass the Word a-round: loaves a-bound!

Christ is a-ble to make us one, at the ta-ble he set the tone,

Teach-ing peo-ple to live to bless, love in word and in deed ex-press.

Refrain

Je-sus calls us in, sends us out bear-ing fruit in a world of doubt,

gives us love to tell, bread to share: God (Im-man-u-el) ev-ery-where!

Refrain

Je-sus lives a-gain, earth can breathe a-gain,

pass the Word a-round: loaves a-bound!

Invitation to Holy Communion

One: This is the joyful feast of the people of God. Come to this table as you are. It is spread for us that we might again know that God comes to us, shares our common lot, dwells among us, and invites us to join the people of a new age, a new day, a new heaven, a new earth. We come to this table, not because we must, but because we may.

All: This is an open table at which all are welcome.

Words of Institution

All: On the night when Jesus was betrayed, Jesus gathered with his disciples in the upper room where an ordinary meal became an instrument of God. At this table, Jesus broke bread with those who would betray him. At this table, Jesus drank wine with the one who denied him. At this table, Jesus communed with those who would abandon him. At this table, Jesus gave a new commandment. At this table, we learn to love one another as God loves us.

Breaking Bread and Pouring Wine

One: Through the broken bread we participate in the body of Christ.

Through the cup of blessing we participate in the new life Christ gives.

The gifts of God for the people of God. Come, for all things are ready.

Sharing the Elements

One: The bread of life.

All: Amen

One: The cup of joy.

All: Amen

*Prayer of Thanksgiving (in unison)

Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer, we give you thanks that you have refreshed us at your table. We are eternally grateful that in this holy mystery, you have given yourself to us. Empower us, that we may go into the world in courage and peace, to give ourselves to each other in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

*Blessing

*Sung Benediction Go With Us, Lord R. #336

That in your Spirit strong and true our lives may be our gift to you.
