Silent Prayer

Loving God, in your wisdom, you created a world rich with diversity. May we be aware of, and celebrate, the wondrous diversity that is in all of Your Creation. May we say “yes” to the diversity among us—within ourselves, our families, our neighbors, and our communities. May we claim that diversity as we come before you and embrace its transformative power and love. Amen

Unresting, unhasting, and silent as light,

nor wanting, nor wasting, thou rulest in might;

thy justice like mountains high soaring above

thy clouds, which are fountains of goodness and love.

*Call to Worship

One: God is calling to us,

All: Though we may be unsure. Full of fear and hesitation.

One: We hear Her lovingly call us out.

All: God calls us to be brave even as our voices shake!

One: In a world that desperately longs for love and unity, God calls us to proclaim our truths.

All: We believe that all people are valuable. We believe in justice and equity. We believe that we are responsible to ease the suffering in this world. We believe in the transformational power of love.

*Invocation

One: Holy One, as we gather here in your presence, open our hearts to love.

All: May we open our hearts to you, O God, and the life you offer us.

One: In you, we are free from the pressure of our world to conform—to all become alike.

All: Like a tapestry, we are created with diverse and beautiful threads that only fully shine when they are braided together in creation. As we gather here, may we remember that we are individual threads, woven together into a beautiful tapestry by your transformational love. Amen.

Prayers of the People – Sharing Joys & Concerns

Our Father (Creator, Mother) who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come,

thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us

our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but

deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen

Lead me Lord, lead me in thy righteousness, make thy way plain before my face.

For it is thou Lord, thou Lord, only, that makest me dwell in safety.

Invitation to Offering –  We are all one human family. In your love you created us. Through your grace you reach out to us. You are great enough to hold us all in your arms at the same time. Help us to open our hearts to the world that you love. Teach us to weave our lives together, offering all that we have to the greater good. In this way, each day, we begin again in love. Amen.

Praise God for all that love has done; Creator, Christ, and Spirit, One. Amen

*Prayer of Dedication (spoken in unison)

For all the great and wondrous things that you have done for us, O God, we are grateful. You give us strength to go on when we are troubled and discouraged. We want to pass on the good news through this offering and by the way we live each day. Lead and guide us with your steadfast love, that we might channel your gifts and help transform this world. Please accept our gifts and love. Amen.

Sent forth by God's blessing, our true faith confessing,

the people of God from this dwelling take leave.

The service is ended, O now be extended

the fruits of our worship in all who believe.

The seed of the teaching, receptive hearts reaching,

shall blossom in action for God and for all.

God's grace did invite us, and love shall unite us

to work for God's realm and to answer the call.
