Silent Prayer
O God of peace, who has taught us that in returning and rest we shall be saved, in quietness and in confidence shall be our strength: by the might of your Spirit lift us, we pray, to your presence, where we may be still and know that your are our God; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

*Hymn When Morning Gilds the Skies B. #86
When morning gilds the skies, my heart awaking cries,
may Jesus Christ be praised! Alike at work and prayer,
One purpose I declare: may Jesus Christ be praised!
New strength comes night or day when from the heart we say,
may Jesus Christ be praised! Let sin and evil fear,
when this sweet chant they hear: may Jesus Christ be praised!
Discordant humankind, in this your concord find,
may Jesus Christ be praised! Let all the earth around
ring joyous with the sound: may Jesus Christ be praised!
Be this, while life is mine, my canticle divine,
may Jesus Christ be praised! Be this the eternal song,
through all the ages long: may Jesus Christ be praised!
*Invocation (spoken in unison): Amazing God, whose glory outshines the sun, open our lives to the inspiration of your Holy Spirit that we may more fully reflect the glory of your love. In Christ’s name we pray. Amen.

*Hymn Beautiful Jesus B. #44
Beautiful Jesus, Head of all creation, God and the blessed Mary’s child:
I want to love you, praise and adore you, joy of my soul, so long desired.
Beautiful springtime, lovely, green, and hopeful, all earth exhales its sweet perfume:
Jesus is sweeter, Jesus is purer, sad hearts at this, rejoice and bloom.
Beautiful sunshine, clear, so lovely, moon-light, stars shine like angels, ranked through space:
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines clearer, in perfect beauty, love, and grace.
All earthly beauty, all celestial radiance fade when compared to Jesus’ face.
Let me not cherish beauties that perish; let me this lovely good embrace.

Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise God, all creatures here below;
Praise God for all that love has done; Creator, Christ, and Spirit, One. Amen
*Prayer of Dedication (spoken in unison)
O God, most merciful and gracious, of whose bounty we have all received, accept, we
pray, this offering of your people. Remember in your love those who have brought it
and those for whom it is given; and so follow it with your blessing that it may promote
peace and goodwill among all people and advance the realm of our Savior Jesus Christ.
*Hymn My Eyes Have Seen the Glory B. #610
My eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord,
who is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored,
And has loosed the fateful lightning of a terrible swift sword;
God’s truth is marching on.
Refrain:
Glory, glory! hallelujah! Glory, glory! hallelujah!
Glory, glory! hallelujah! God’s truth is marching on.
God has been there in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps,
Where they built a sacred altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read the righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
God’s day is marching on.
Refrain:
God has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
and is sifting out the hearts of all before the judgment seat;
O be swift, my soul, to answer and be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
Refrain:
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
with a glory in whose bosom that transfigures you and me;
As Christ died to make us holy, let us die to make all free;
While God is marching on.
Refrain:
*Blessing
*Sung Benediction Lord, Dismiss Us with Your Blessing (v. 1) R. #333
Lord, dismiss us with your blessing; fill our hearts with joy and peace;
let us each, your love possessing, triumph in redeeming grace:
oh, refresh us, oh, refresh us, traveling through this wilderness.
